Selecting the appropriate frame is essential for displaying your artwork in the best possible light. The right frame not only protects your picture, but also accentuates its features. However, with a plethora of choices available, how do you decide on the ideal frame?
Initially, you should evaluate the color and finish of the frame. This will not only accentuate the image, but also exhibit your individual style. It is also possible to match the frame with the decor of your living space. Take some time to contemplate the overall appearance of your room before making a decision.
Subsequently, you should consider the width of the frame. A wide frame may overwhelm a small picture, while a narrow frame may not be sufficient for a larger image. Opt for a width that complements the artwork's style and size.
We use this type of frame with archival and photographic paper where prints are covered by our unbreakable acrylic glass.
MATTE BLACK
This solid, smooth black frame is sleek and stylish - a classic choice for photography and graphic art prints.
MATTE WHITE
Our solid, smooth white finish is perfect for contemporary art and photographic prints with a minimalist look.
NATURAL WOOD
A natural hand finished maple frame is a classic and tasteful choice that works particularly well with paintings by museum masters. Maple also provides a beautiful surround for bright contemporary prints, giving modern pieces a timeless appeal.
ANTIQUE GOLD
Gold frames provide a rich museum look that often times serves as a perfect way to integrate the finish of furniture in interior design. We offer frames in gold that offer a warm and soft metal tone without being too ornate, not orange, for a perfect classic contemporary look.
BLACK & GOLD EDGE
When only a small gold accent is needed, this slim black wooden frame adds a touch of luxe without being traditional.
Shadowboxes provide a unique way to showcase paper prints by giving the impression that the artwork is suspended inside a box. The back and edges of the box are covered in white matting to enhance the artwork's presentation. Additionally, to add depth and a shadowy effect around the art print, a foamboard surface that is slightly smaller than the print is inserted between the matting and the print.
Furthermore, you have the choice to order the art print's edge to be either torn or straight. If you prefer a more natural look, a deckled edge is an excellent option. A visual representation of a shadowbox is provided below to demonstrate how the artwork is elevated in the box's layers.
When used in a Shadowbox style frame, the elements will be placed as in the profile below:
WOODEN FRAMES USED FOR A SHADOWBOX
Our frames boast a depth of 1.7 inches, providing ample space for multiple layers to give a three-dimensional effect to the raised art print. When transformed into a shadowbox, the sides and back of the frame are lined with matching mats to encase the artwork on a smaller foamboard acting as a pedestal to raise the art print of photograph.
