There are many ways to ensure your walls are interesting to look at. Gallery walls are a great way to show off many different pieces of coastal wall art. We used a mix of all photography for these gallery walls, but we also love the idea of using a mix of photography and paintings that give off that nautical vibe.
We used three underwater pieces to anchor the look, then mixed in organic shapes and pops of color to keep it feeling a little more abstract.
Summer isn’t just about the beach. This gallery wall was inspired by a images of surfing. A palette of yellows and dark turquoise blues offers a lively contrast while bringing a light-hearted feeling to this look.
White framing remains a safe bet. It goes well with all shades but black of natural wood mouldings can also complement the tones used in the furniture. Bet on turquoise blue that evokes the sea, pastel blue recalls the summer sky and navy blue combines perfectly with light wooden furniture for a modern interior.
Play with nuances to create a story in the house. could also mix in pinks and greens for more depth of color. A pop of a contrasting can be used in small quantities and let the color of the sea dominate the composition, this could be shown through plants, ocean waves, sea-life, sailboats and other subjects.
Sticking to one shade risks turning it into a boring look unless you choose to play with shades of black and white and show-off a monochrome look like in the gallery wall above.
Yachting and sailing black and white photographs are a favourite for a contemporary coastal decor.
Muted Gallery Walls can also have a great impact. There is strength in softness!
This evocative and feminine coastal composition could be used in the living room or a bedroom.
You can mix and match, pick and choose any at and photography you see in our website and make your own creative compositions. You can also play with mirror effects and create your very own diptych, like in the image below:
